Meet the Dietitian and creator of 2 A Healthier You

I’m Sonya Lewis, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist dba 2 A Healthier You. After working in wellness programs, hospitals, labs and public health, I decided to start 2 A Healthier You to help others become healthier and have a healthier life.

I’ve worked in wellness and nutrition roles for Fortune-listed companies and as a wellness vendor. And, I've dropped 4 dress sizes, lost over 30 pounds and kept it off three years using a unique approach to health. I bring these experiences, gold-standard industry tools and solutions from my own personal wellness journey to 2 A Healthier You.

When I’m not working on 2 A Healthier You, I enjoy volunteering at farmer’s markets and food pantries, cooking, walking, yoga and watching college football.

credentials + qualifications

My credentials include Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Licensed Dietitian - Texas (LD), Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) and Cooper Institute - Certified Personal Trainer (CI-CPT).

I completed a four-year undergraduate degree and 1200 hours of supervised practice through the coordinated program in dietetics at the University of Alabama. Completing this ACEND (Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics) approved program allowed me to take my examination to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. I also completed a Master of Arts degree at the University of Alabama. Completing this National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC) approved program allowed me to take my examination to become a Certified Health Education Specialist. In 2011, NCHEC introduced an advanced-level certification (MCHES) for CHES practitioners with at least 5 years of experience. I am a member of the first group of professionals with the advanced MCHES credential. In May 2017, I passed the Cooper Institute-Certified Personal Trainer (CI-CPT) examination.

My education, experience, credentials and license qualify me to provide unrestricted nutrition services, to educate individuals and groups on a healthy lifestyle and develop nutrition, exercise and wellness programs that encourage healthy environments and set health seekers up for success on their journey 2 A Healthier You.
